Objectives of the Tax faculty of the GSA:

i. To promote best practice in their field;
ii. To advise the executive and the broader membership on matters of interest relating to their field;
iii. To provide thought leadership in their field; and
iv. To provide continuing professional education in their field.

This includes the following:

- Allowing GSA members to specialise;
- Providing a forum to discuss specialist issues and provide thought leadership on behalf of the society;
- Entering into dialogue with the Income Tax Office to obtain clarity in areas where the legislation is unclear and to attempt to resolve any matters of concern; and
- Obtaining specialist training in the area of taxation.

Resulting from the above, the Faculty issues tax newsletters to communicate the outcome of discussions with the Income Tax Office.
It is planned to introduce a Gibraltar tax qualification in the future.
