1) Afternoon 17th March 2016 – Steve Giles will present half-day course on ethics/independence (to include EU audit reform).

2) Morning 18th March 2016 - Steve Giles will present half-day course on financial crime (referring where applicable to FSC Guidance Notes relating to accountants/auditors).

3) Full day training course 8th September 2016 – Accounting/Auditing update by Guy Loveday.

Accountants Elect New President

Desiree McHard, managing partner of BDO Ltd, has been elected President of the Gibraltar Society of Accountants. 

Desiree, who has served on the GSA executive for six years, moves from chair of the Audit Faculty to become President and takes over from Colin Vaughan who had presided since 2013.
Accepting the chain of office at their Annual General Meeting on June 10th, Mrs McHard thanked Mr Vaughan and the outgoing executive for their work and accomplishments.  Desiree stated that she intended to build on the excellent working relationship with HMGoG, the Financial Services Commission and other stakeholders; she looks forward to a busy period of office continuing to advise on, and contribute to, changes in legislation that affect the entire business community and addressing the many EU directives and international standards that impact upon the finance industry locally.

With 300 members, the Gibraltar Society of Accountants represents the accounting profession in its interaction with public authorities in Gibraltar and other professional bodies. The GSA promotes best practice, ethics and standards in business and promotes the interests of the accounting profession generally.

The newly elected GSA executive are:

Ian Collinson -Deputy President
Daniel Dolties - Secretary & Treasurer
with members Moe Cohen, Daniel Delgado, Barry Pillans, Neil Rumford and Jonathan Tricker
